Each member of our team comes with a unique set of skills and together, we create buildings that stand out from the rest while fitting in harmoniously and beautifully.
The personal design leadership experience of David Crabtree AIA spans across multiple firms accruing over 20 years of experience and the vision to start HiveWorkshopllc in 2021 as a boutique design focused firm with worldly experience and personal service. Starting at Architects Design Group gaining Community and Public Safety Architecture experience, growing as a Design Director at Little in the Corporate, Mixed Use and Urban Design fields, further fostering design leadership as a Design Director at Gensler Charlotte, and finally as a Design and Practice Leader for Perkins&Will North Carolina in similar markets, he has set an amazing foundation for human centric design leadership. David's project experience noted herein is composed of these past experiences as well as HiveWorkshopLLC projects. Any prior experience will be noted to differentiate our past from our current design leadership as we grow beyond!

We believe in an iterative research and discovery based process. We approach every project with excitement, enthusiasm, and curiosity for finding the seeds of the new and the clarity of a big idea. We are always seeking new ways to tell the story of design through the vision of our clients. We pride ourselves in being creative disrupters, exploring the latest in materials science, using exciting new tools, and pursuing the latest building technologies.

Create
The design process at HiveWorkshop involves several iterative stages, from initial sketches to 2D and 3D modeling and beyond. We believe in a reflexive modern research based process where big ideas win. Design is the built text of what we believe matters.
